mdehnersI was going to try a new(to me;>) dvd of an old movie serial, 'The Tiger Woman' and the TV didn't flip over fast enough and I caught a Sunday News show. I got to listen to Old Leatherface(Senator Boenner)explain that there was no such thing as Global Warming because Carbon Dioxide is safe because we breathe it out every day. Appearantly, "The Help" was always around him if the sewage backed up in his mansion, so the concept of overtaxing a system is beyond him:>....
I've a few friends in the Denial Camp. They all live in the middle of Biomes which are the most Stable and or in cities which create their own climates so they aren't Affected. 'Course, People being People, if it doesn't Affect them, they Generally don't Care.
Personally, GW mostly Positive for me, being at the tail end of the Temperate ZOne. Most yrs we're technically SUbtropical and if the Native trees die off, there's plenty of Feral Ornamentals to fill in the dead spaces, right? I our area, with the exception of the Popcorn Tree(because it's berries look like garlands of Popcorn) our Ferals and Invasives produce more food than Natives. This of course means the original species balances are no longer in effect. Feral Taro feed extra Possums and Racoons. Blueberries and Blackberries feed Birds of all kinds. The Tank Bromeliads provide homes for Tadpoles and the Mosquitoes the adult frogs and toads eat...
Since I don't live in an area that will be underwater or a desert, I don't really care anymore. The planet's been warmer before and if Humans die off....I haven't been that impressed with the species in decades anyway. I'm pretty sure we've been Breeding for Stupidity....
