mdehnersI certainly Understand the Impulse to live with your Own, whether it be a city neighborhood or a rural hamlet. Just being away from the "Clueless" for a short period is Welcoming. Even temporary ones like Gatherings and Moots help Refresh the Soul. While I've never lived in a Heathen one I've done so in a number of Gay ones and know how Healing these places can be for those out in the Troll-Lands.
While I Love my folks there are oft times living here in "The Dangly Bits" gets old, both religiously and Orientationally. It always amuses me that so many Hets(or Chirsitians)get Pissed when we(Homo or Heathen)make a sweeping Generalization at a moment of Anger yet those they make matter-of-factally as somehow "not the same thing". There is a big difference bwtween being ANgry and using WOrds as Weapons and calmly stating something you Beleive to be True....
One of the big things that Pisses me off withthe R is the same as that of the L. That is the supremacy of Feeling over Fact. What Is or had Happened is not as Important as how we Feel. The FACT that both have folks whose existance orients around manipulating those Feelings shows why NEITHER can be Trusted.
Though PERSONALLY I think some of these folks deserve the Death Penalty. A case in point is a Fundie couple whose son Died of aids and is now using his Death as a talking point against recognising the Marriage of Homosexuals. Shunning him when they found out he was Gay, ignoring him until he called them from his deathbed then imprisoning him when he was hospitalised presneting that those who "recruited" him as turning away from him "at his most dire hr" convieniently "forgetting" that they refused all but themselves and their church prayer warriors in for visiting is a pretty typical example.
