mdehnersBeen that way since Samhain. A bit of Depression, a bit of Inertia, a bit of ,well everything. One thing that looms large in it is my Sight. Now, I've never really Understood the point of near Present Prognostication, probably because I'm not a "People Person" and couldn't give a rodent's rear about what Sally's going to do next Tuesday. What's going to happen in a quarter century ahead, yes. After all, what you See that far in the Future if Clear is THE MOST PROBABLE(at this point). And since the Bank Bail-Out(yes, started with Shrub but continued and expanded with Obama) the CHANCE for us, esp Americans to LEARN didn't happen. Instead, we had the Beleif reinforced that something/one will always come Bail us out. There's no reason to Change Distructive Behaviors(Personal or Cultural). The Future 25 yrs from now is pretty CLEAR. Luckly, we won't be around and my neice announced that they aren't going to have kids.
I always laugh at folks who think the post Tech world is some sort of 'Mad Max' knockoff. Maybe if things "floated to the top of the tank" no later than the early 80's but today's machines are designed to fall apart after a yr or two so you'll get another. Not repaired, replaced. Within 5 yrs nothing Invented after WWI will be even jury-rigged to work. And since even Craft and SCA Hobbiest text will have been digitized....no one who didn't already have those skills WILL.
The Positive of course is that once the Toxins leach out of our ruins the planet will be able to repair and regenerate Herself. And Humans aren't going to be Extinct, just finally learning a lesson that we avoided through religious and economic Beleifs that we didn't...that EVERYTHING has a PRICE.
