A Pagan-ish Heathen;>....
Mar. 22nd, 2011 12:58 pmNo, I haven't gone over to the "Made Up is equal to Real Stuff" side of Modern Paganism. What I have been is doing Work that, while in sync with the Lore is my own creation and adapted to my Health, Life, Geography and Biome. The biggest change was no longer trying to do Rites that truly require 2 or more participants. If it can't be done well just by me, I adapt it or drop it. If I lived in a Heathen rich area I wouldn't have gone down this Path but since I don't, I HAVE.
One big difference is that there isn't that much to post to others about because literally they don't live here and so my Experiences wouldn't be the same as theirs whereever they live. Though to be accurate, the historical timing of Agricultural Rites does fit in pretty well to my local Biome. "Charming" comes at a perfect time to ready your tools for the gardens and Eostre just before planting out in the beds.
To me, without the banns of a Heathen community, I finally decided to focus on Work that "works" for me, my family and my land. And that oddly enough seems pretty "Heathen" to me;>....
Cheers,
Pat

Especially since some lucky folk have been pottering around in their garden for a while and some of us won't be setting out seeds for another few weeks and no out door work for at least another month.
