Cultural Differences...
Oct. 5th, 2009 01:42 pmIt's THAT time of the yr again here. The time when differences in certain ASian and the general American culture locally get stressed....Persimmon Time(There's another at New Yrs for Citrus). These fruits are considered good luck and that they were planted, grown and owned by someone else is pretty much irrelivant. Appearantly, it's only privately owned as long as you have the weaponry to keep others from taking yours.
Every yr, some folks get hit twice as their trees get stripped(my folks had their's done two days ago....). Most folks now plant these trees in their backyards and even cut down mature trees in their fronts as so not to advertise. My backyard is too shaded so mine are in front and have to depend on Sourcery for Protection. Unfortunately, ther's nothing to be done, even if you catch them. It's a very minor crime and the "Progressives" fault you for not being "supportive" of their culture...
Truth,
Pat
