Yes, I realize it's early but it's never to early to Bitch;>. In my family we have a reeeeaaaallly annoying mileu. You have my brother and his wife with their 6 figure income and you have my retired military parents with their "been there, bought that, so we don't need another" attitude with little old us, a nurse on DIsability and a Disabled husband working a minimum wage job. I remember one yr literally getting the present we'd given to my brother's family the previous yr. Needless to say it's a losing premise either way....
I'd thought of getting each family a tetsubin(Iron Teapot)since both drink Tea but considering the disaster of giving top quality Tea was(it doesn't come in a teabag and you don't microwave it;>....), it would be a waste of our limited resources for no gain. As I said, I HATE X-MAS!
Truth,
Pat

Yup, never too early to bitch. I have come to loathe the whole circus around this repugnant display of consumer glut. From a heathen stance I can appreciate celebrating the Yuletide with bounteous feasting over many days but draw the line at over-gifting. Anything extreme becomes grotesque and that is what xmas has become for western culture. If anything xmas is a critique on the hollow nature of this society. Xians may have thieved Yule but they totally missed the meaning and filled it with their perversions, and the resulting reductive materialism runs rampant that even they can't control. As such I'm split on feeling rage at such theft but grateful they missed/left the point of it on so many levels.
