Losing my "Mojo"?

All my life I’ve had a “connection” to Weather. Even my folks noticed. 'Course, it's hard to ignor a kid where within 24 hrs of him having a tantrum/getting Pissed off has a storm blow up;>.
But I’m Wondering if I’ve lost my “Mojo” along with my 32” waistline;>. I still am not getting any Danger signals beyond heavy Rain despite what the low-cal news says. I mean, we always have a couple days worth of food and gas for the generator(which I did run for 15 min, just to blow the gunk out) but since I’ve not got the same Warning(s) I’ve got since ‘Erin’, we’re not stocked for more than a week without Power. Food isn’t a Problem. We can always use the gas grill or even FIRE. We’d run out of Drinking Water after a week but considering NONE of the last 4 hurricanes to hit near here has the Water shut off for more than a day, I’m certainly not worried.
Like I said, it bugs me that what the news say and what I feel are so different. Maybe Gifts have expiration dates like so many other things…
Still got the hair and most of me teeth though!

...I really think that these days, so many things are stirred up on every level that a lot of the psychic gifts we used to have get confused, or blocked, or lurked-upon-and-made-yucky-and-confused by other entities so we can't feel or see things clearly, etc.: I know that has happened in my world...maybe it's just that the energies are a new form, and the weather patterns are new, so the new skills need to be gotten, or mutated from the old...*shrug*...just one idea!

Objectively, it's not a "biggie". We've always a couple days supplies and Power put away. One that does worry me is that since we haven't had any storms since "The Yr of Passing Wind";>. With all the hype if Isaac performs equal to less than the storms earlier this Summer, folks'll tune out warnings when they should heed them....

I must now check the news to see what they are saying ... but my inclination is the opposite of the other commenter. The news these days blows up hysteria about storms to get ratings. Plus the computer models are often wrong. I'd trust your instincts above the forecasts. Hope I'm right!

I See a salt marsh during Landfall, a few snags in the distance. That sort of biome you don't get until you're either East of Panama City or(more likely) West of Pensacola. My "money" is on the Alabama-Mississippi Gulf Coast but since I'm guessing from a "snapshot";>
All I know is there ain't none near here....

Yup. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it suddenly turns west and clobbers the poor old Bolivar Peninsula again. Your point about people ignoring warnings is valid ... but after a certain point, one can't worry too much about people's stupidity. There were decades of people on the TX coast ignoring warnings.

True. 'Course, I'm partially ready for the "Porkyclypse" with my edible landscaping so survival's never going to be a problem....comfort, that's another thing entirely;>!
Even back when I lived in DC I had at least a couple days worth of Food, meds and Water. San Francisco and FWB've taught me this is the LEAST you should have.
One thing I've NEVER had to do is join the paniced herds at the box store or supermarket. Was in a market during one once.It was funny watching the Panickstricken react to someone buying Milk and fresh veggies;>.
Unfortunately, the EEjits are also the 1st ones the Media or Gov't listen to. Which makes having the grid go down as well as Cable a Blessing during those times.

Gifts don't expire (unless you are silly and wish them away), but they can change and grow.

I don't have any sense of danger for the area, either, and I'm 1,500 miles away.
