mdehnersPersonally, I find it funny that folks have forgotten why the phrase got started. No, it wasn't due to Ecumenism because it started showing up on store windows in the late 50's. It was because store owners discovered that by painting(and this was back in the day before machine-made stencils)"Happy Holidays" once, the DIDN'T have to Paint, Clean and Repaint for Halloween, Thanksgiving , Christmas and New Years. How financially responsible;>!
Personally, I don't get bent out of shape when someone wishes me a "Merry Christmas!". I just wish them a "Joyous Yule" back at'm. Personally, I'd rather have a simple cheche than the buzy hot mess that's today's holiday display but I also find black socks with sandals annoying;>.
Unlike many of us "Archaic Renaissance" folk's holidays, Yule isn't freaky to the Cowan so just wish it back. And a anyone who's read this thing knows I'm NOT a big fan of Christianity, I'm also not big on being a Spiritual Arse.
So, don't be a "Dick";>!!!!
