mdehnersThere's something about a cold, wet, dark day that makes you put on the kettle,pour a cuppa and either curl up with a good book or video. Today I went for an old fav, the Anime series 'Hime, Hime'(Princess, Princess). This is one of those culturally dissonant productions but as someone whose grown up in so many different ones, I tend to like those that certainly most Americans don't and this is one of them;>
It's the story of Touru, an orphan teen who goes to an all boy's school. To cover his expenses, he takes a job as a "Princess". These are young "pretty" boys who dress up and act as girls as so to make the male students act like "gentlemen". A premise that wouldn't work on SO MANY LEVELS in America;>
Strangely sweet, funny and, obviously twisted. A good series for a dreary day!
