It was nice everybody(well, except for my brother Gary who lives in Nevada)over at the folks for dinner yesterday...though WHY my SIL asked for ribs for Christmas dinner is beyond me;>!
Chuck and I continued our jealousy at my nephew's ability to grow impressive fur. I mean, mid 20's and he can grow a mustache that'd make Sam Elliot jealous?! Not fair;>!
The most uncomfortable was my brother Chris complaining about how my parents have only a couple thosand left in their Savings(they have everything else taken care of by investments, various pensions, etc. If the Savings was empty, they'd still have all that they need still covered). Thing is, they Retired in the late 70's and more than 3 decades later they still have a few thousand in the bank. IMO that's pretty fukkn impressive!
I know he's stressed because all their finances ended up his responsibility(he asked AND has the skills, unlike little old Working Class me who's never had the extra cash to work the stock market and other investments beyond an emergency Savings acct;>). Unfortunately, he thinks like a businessperson in that every yr should make more money instead of weirdoes like me who think you should make enough to live well. I don't think he's "got" Dad's Alzheimers. He's not going to be getting better, the best is a slow decline but he's obsessing about little things like Dad having a drink. As long as he's not drinking & driving or drunk, let him have a coctail or 3! Oh well....
Cheers,
Pat
