Sugars are up but not High, mostly due to holiday foods;>. Finally found a replacement program to help with my aids Meds so I don't have to worry about them for another 6 months when we do this dance all over again. And with the Eejits in Washington.......
While the Cellulitis cleared up nicely after a week of antibiotics, I think it did some muscle damage as that leg's having some strength "issues. Luckly, that's the leg I already support with my cane so it just means the poor thing has a little more pressure on it;>.
One the aids front, there was a bit in the local paper that it may close it's doors in January. Since it covers pretty much every aids and hiv+ person from Pensacola to Panama City, this would be a BAD THING. Sadly, it's lost about a 1/3 of it's budget this yr from both fed and state sources and there are less grants from Charities as well. Part of this I saw coming. Back in the late 90's they decided to go to a "professional" as opposed to a volunteer staff which meant that they needed to find grants to pay the staff beforethe clients, instead of the old way...clients 1st. 'Course, each grant had their own rules which made it more and more complicated and more and more paperwork which needed more and more staff which meant more grants so.....
What WILL be ugly is that the state has farmed part of the work the health dept USED to do on them because, well non-profits can staff cheaper that state workers so if they go under, so will ALL the programs that depend on the work that got farmed out. Part of the "fun" I just went through was due to this BS when IT WAS WORKING!!!!
Sigh. Next yr's NOT going to be better I'm afraid.....for ANYONE, not just me.
Cheers,
Pat
