DVD Review: 'Mimesis'......
Feb. 22nd, 2013 11:35 amHere's yet again a case where a great idea doesn't work out do to poor choices; in this case part Writing and Makeup....
The Concept:
A group of Horrorcon goers black out at a party and wake up dressed and placed in a property designed to resemble Romero's 'Night of the Flesh Eaters' better known as it was retitled: 'Night of the Living Dead'.
Problems:
Only one goer recognises it. REALLY!?! I've never met even Sci-Fi Horror fans NOT at least knowing the basics of the movie.
The Thrill-killers are in the SHITTIEST Zombie makeup EVER. I've seen 7 yr olds on Holloween do better.
Once the participants realize that they're not Zombies, the Killers continue to move around "Slow Zombie" but the captives don't take advantage of it. Both make it hard to buy the action.
Am I glad I rented it? I've rented wore and it was a cold, rainy day;>. Would I suggest renting it? If you have nothing better to do and are able not to be a member of "Nitpick Nation"(a wonderful article I've run into in a few places online about how today's consumer is so savvy that they can't just enjoy what they're viewing, that they, during real time are critiquing it)...
Cheers,
Pat
