WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

So, 0300 I'm awakened by severe pain in my L leg. Overthe next couple of hrs it gets worse no matter what all the yrs of being a Burn Nurse AND a Chronic Pain patient taught me. 10 on a scale from 1-10 and that with my normal twice a day MS-COntin. Finally, I noticed that it was also cold to the touch. I decided to go to the ER just in case it was a clot(High BP, Cholesterol and Diabetes?!). Well, the Good News is that it wasn't a clot and by the time I left the pain was down to a 6. The Bad was that my ruptured disk was pinching my Sciatic Nerve...which makes be now an official Old Man. Ah haz the SEE-atikka!
A shot of Chorisone in my spine, a shot of Morphine in my IV and now home.
WORST MONDAY EVER;>!!!!!!

Ugh, that is serious sciatica. I had the conventional version one year in NYC, I forget whether before or after I developed arthritis '-) So neither indicates old age! That said, ugh ugh ugh, hope the drugs do it.

They really did. I woke up this AM just to a backache and a numb leg....a BIG improvement. A Naprosen and Darvocet combo at 0500 has kept me able so far.My BIG problem is once I'm not in AGONY I tend to go back doing that which needs to be done...even though it's NOT a good idea;>....

Goodness! That sounds horrible :( I hope you're feeling a bit better now, and that the shots kept the worst of it at bay.

It's up-n-down, mostly because as soon as I feel a little better I do morethan I should...situation normal;>!
