Mixed "Marriages".....

mdehnersRecently, I was listening to an acquaintance complaining about her long-time boyfriend about religion. Surprising to many here, I didn't answer Honestly but with a nice, modern non-committal fluffbit.
Her problem with her boyfriend was that she wanted to raise their future children "Spiritually". She couldn't Understand what "problem" he could have with "that". Well......
The man in question was raised in the Assemblies of God Church. He presently ISN'T and like many from such Ways has lumped ALL Spiritual and Metaphysical Material in with it....BS. He considers her Spirituality like my brother does his wife's...a weird but harmless hobby. Fine for her but his kids?
I've run into this many times with newagers and Modern Pagans. They don't realize that for many of those who were (or are) members of Monotheistic Ways, teaching that "All Religions are Equally Valid" IS a form of religious doctrination. If they've gone Atheist, they're not going to she your actions any different than those of THEIR parents. To them, there is no difference between Dr Doom and Pogo...they're both made-up.
It used to be that Gays in particular "lucked out" by avoiding this impediment to relationships but not so much anymore with Adoption and Surrogacy. Evolution I guess.....
