...it POURS.
Jul. 15th, 2013 09:46 amSo, we're supposed to go out to dinner with the family Sunday. Chuck can't because with all the Rain his bum knee is giving him fits. So, I go over to the folks and find Mom on Oxygen and Dad looking like Death Warmed Over. I ask them if they've called my brother and his wife to maybe cancel and they DIDN'T. When they got there ,DESPITE Asking them if they wished to cancel, we all STILL went out. Mom couldn't eat. We all get back to the folks and they Promise that if she got worse they'd go to the ER(in my folk's world, only SEVERE PAIN counts as a reason to go, simply gasping for breath ISN'T). I call less thatn two hrs later and NO ANSWER.
So, I go over to their house and one of their cars is missing. I call the ER and they say no one by her name has been admitted. My brother also has no idea where they are.
At 1900 I get a call from my brother that Dad had called him(I'm used to my younger brother being the family fav...even though he didn't provide genetic grandkids;>) that they WERE in the ER and she would probably be admitted.
She was.
And that's where we are at present. Unfortunately, not an unusual occurrence when you have parents in their late 70's and 80's with heart problems.
In a way it's be good if Mom Passed. Her life has been pretty miserable for the last few yrs. Unfortunately, there's DAD. He's high-enough functioning that he doesn't need a nursing home but bad enough he needs someone who can be his companion 24/7. If Mom Passes before Dad, I don't know what will happen. Probabilities will be that Chuck and I move into the folk's home(something Boo-Boo and Mom's two cats will LOVE;>!). Let's just say I hope the reverse.
Cheers,
Pat
