This blog(http://lostcookbook.wordpress.com/) Is that of a lady cooking her way through a 3+ century old English cookbook. More revealing and entertaining than useful in the food-prep sense though. A BIG thing is to Remember that even educated folk at this time had little Idea how even the basic stuff our dumber kids understand works. My recent fav is a method to "sweeten" Chicken meat by basically feeding them cookie dough for a couple days then shoving the stuff up their fannies the last. Perhaps the axe was welcome by then;>
