Sad....

BooBoo, our dog died this AM. He got sick just before dinner, seemed to get better but around 0300 got sick again and by 0600 he was gone. I've never seen an illness happen this fast so my suspicion is poison.
He has his own mound in the backyard, buried with his "treasures". He will be missed. He came from an abusive home(by the time we got him he had been set on fire and had someone "tag" him with their car). We KNOW he had a better life with us. That helps.

Thank you. He was a mess due to his Abusive Puppihood but he was "Our Mess". He at least knew he was Loved.

Thanks. Last night was rough. Heck, sleeping with ANYONE for a couple yrs sets up habits and doing so with one that was soooo happy to be there certainly does;>. I admit, he's certainly the only dog in Florida that was sent off with Tibetan Sandalwood Joss Sticks on his grave...

True. That's why last night was so uncomfortable. Added to all that he'd gone through, the previous owners had him chained up to a tree in their backyard, so that he was welcomed onto our bed, not just the house made him so happy that even yrs after he'd come to us, at bedtime he'd be so happy he'd start barking. He'd also, run to get into bed 1st and then basically bark at us to get moving;>....

Thanks. I found out today that he wasn't the only dog in our town to suddenly get "sick". An old coworker of Chuck at the grocery store, after I explained why he didn't come with me asked if it had been severe vomiting. Apparently, two of her dogs earlier in the week became violently Ill but lived. She suspected poison. THEN I told her I'd been thinking the same since the symptoms were so violent and the death so quick(relatively). Unfortunately, BooBoo didn't have someone to "share" whatever he ate and got the full dose.
If I already didn't have a poor opinion of Humans....
