I really appreciate Marion taking over the Havamal group over on Yahoogroups. I needs something "Lore-y" this time of yr especially. Not just the general culture's holidays, it's just the amt of Eejits that seem to be more noticeable this time of yr.
Have added Mitchell and Robinson's 'A Guide to OE' as well as Davis' Sweet's to to my Pollington. Unfortunately, both use the same Pronunciation Key basically as Pollington does, which for those of us raised and schooled in the States can cause Cognitive Dissonance, esp the Macron NOT marking a Vowel "long" by ME standards. I actually had less problems with Old Norse;>. Oh well. I've plenty of time before 1/1/14;>....

Sorry about that. There is a pronunciation guide to A-S still sitting near the start of my LJ; maybe it will help? (It's old-fashioned in being based on the spelling and how Latin was spelled, rather than on strange theories of schwa.)

I have it and I wish my printer still worked so I could keep a copy with my books. Much more helpful IMO....
