I admit. I'm a bit surprised how hard I've reacted to yesterday's clinic appt. I mean, it's really nothing new. Gov't incompetence(Fed, State and Local),unprepared staff, attitude, etc. It's SOP for Public Health, esp. here.
It's not just the treatment of being on Disability....at least my track. Here in "The Dangly Bits" there's two. One, the "Bless Their Heart(s)" are folks who were either born Disabled or were born and raised on the Dole. They get help. Then there are folks like me.
1-I worked most of my life. Therefore, becoming Disabled is somehow my fault because of a moral shortcoming

2-Since I don't look like "Death Warmed Over" I must be lazy and playing the system...unlike those that were raised in it and placed there by Jesus, "Bless their heart(s)".

I DO get a bit of a "kick" how a new MD in a rural Southern county can automatically discount all the work of one of the foremost aids/hiv clinics in the US(if not the world, Saint Mary's and San Francisco General)simply because I'm "too young to be in a walker and it'll just make you fatter".
Oh Well. Enough bitching for now;>....
