SITREP;>.....
Feb. 2nd, 2014 06:51 amSo, I finally got the guts to go and see the damage in the greenhouse. Chaya and both Okinawaan Spinach types down to the roots. Hopefully, they’ll resprout. The Plumerias too large for the shelves were frozen. Their trunks are mushy. The Adeniums foliage and tips are as well but the stems are OK. They’ll resprout if they don’t get rot. The Dbl Yellow Brugmansia’s down to roots. Bloodorange looks OK though.
When I went to Water, there was no pressure. Looked outside and the well was making like the Trevi Fountain! Looks like there was some water in the system even though I thought I’d drained the above ground bits. Obviously not well enough. It’ll be a “pain” cause my pvc pipe cutter isn’t up to that diameter so I’ll have to borrow a saw from my Dad. Can’t ask him where it is due to his Alzheimer’s and due to it he compulsively rearranges his old workshop so where it’d been last time I borrowed it is not necessarily where it’ll be this time. It’ll also be a MESS. AND if he’s having a Bad Day he’ll get Agitated that I’m ‘Stealing” from him.
Sigh….
OTOH, it looks like that which made it through the 1st Freeze outdoors looks no more Damaged .
Cheers,
Pat
