In an area where Asian Pears are almost $2.00 EACH, I shouldn't have been surprised that someone stripped my trees. I guess I'll be doing what my folks do with their Persimmons(another locally expensive fruit). Pick them just as they begin to should colour and ripen them indoors.

Since it's been happening to my folks for more than 15 yrs, I shouldn't have been surprised. A while back I asked the Thai lady that I trade rare plants with why she didn't have any fruit trees in her front yard when her back yard was so crowded. She gave me a look like I was crazy. Now I know. Guess I'll treat them like Ornamentals from now on. Maybe next time our future home won't have such a large non-Japanese ASian community...
