mdehnersThis excellent Anime is set about a Millennia in the Future....
It's the Saga(and I do mean Saga;>!)of the experiences of 5 friends from Primary school to the central female character's pregnancy nearing 30. In our time the 1st PK users were born. Sadly, "Great Power"(or even minor Power)bestowed on Humans meant they acted "Humanly". Slights real or imagined were Punished, the Greedy stole, you get the picture. Our civilization fell. During this time a new mutation in the PK users allowed them to go beyond the "minor" Energy(which destroyed our civilization;>)and to tap other sources, exponentially increasing this Power. Warlord states of PK Lords spread. After 500 some odd yrs they collapse under their own actions. The surviving PK users modify themselves genetically with "The Death of Shame" which causes anyone who attempts to kill another Human to die. Also, the studies of Primates showed how well the Bonobo species worked keeping Aggression down so society was arranged similarly(Needless to say, some might find the same-sex sexualizing of children upsetting). The events in the series are set 500 yrs later...
Beautiful, sad and well-written(though Saki, the main female character's "Squishiness" oft gets irritating, though she means well;>). Well worth looking for.
