Stereotypes....
Feb. 28th, 2016 05:57 amOft are true because they're based on generalities. On Cable;>......
Tech #8 left yesterday doing the SAME THING that #6 and 7 did. 6 discovered the probable problem; Line Noise. SUPPOSEDLY, he scheduled someone to FIX IT. That has NOT been. 8 wasn't a total loss. he gave me more ammo to use against his supervisors and, if I'd been 20 yrs younger;>......
A brief recap:
A month ago next Friday I upgraded my system to HD. IMMEDIATELY lost all but local channels. #5(a supposed supervisor)got all my old stations back but NONE of my new ones. He also couldn't get my Tivo to work with the new HD service, even though mine(a Yule present from my brother and his wife) IS an HD model. As I said, 6 discovered the line noise(something Mr Super DIDN'T, course he didn't check the frikkn lines). Other than that, it's been a Benny Hill episode without the soundtrack(or partially nude bimbos;>). I agree with 6. It's most probably the original coax cable installed in the late 70's-early 80's that connects the "cox box" to the house. My brother who does IT for a living so well he gets sent around the country to fix other people's messes wired the house before we moved in with the quality of materials he used in his own home. So THAT'S good. It's most probably about 10 ft MAX of old cable that needs to be replaced...something that even I could do(except for the whole belonging to a major corporation thing;>). So, SUPPOSEDLY in the next 24-48 hrs I'm to get a call from a supervisor to make arraignments for an OUTSIDE INSTALLER to change out about 10' of old cable with new.
Hopefully, that will fix ALL the problems. If not, it should take care of my slow Internet;>....
Cheers,
Pat
