mdehnersLet's face it. Most of us alt.rel types are Drama Queens...at least in Ritual(and some of us....;>).For many, this trait is what attracted us to various Ways. "Bells & Smells".
In Truth, there's nothing Inherently Wrong with this. It's when it becomes the Master instead of the Servant that you get problems. "I can't do ___ because..." is a phrase we oft find dripping off our or other's lips BECAUSE we've got caught up in the minutia OF Drama. This is esp regrettable in the case(s) of Devotional Rites. The God/desses "get it". They know that stuff happens and you can't do something at a certain time or that this month you can't afford some_____. All They want is your Respect and Attention. Sure, They'd like the whole "High Church" routine at the right time but They Know YOU. It's also why you won't get away with "blowing them off" using the time and crap missing defense;>.
Unlike Magical Rites, Devotional ones have more leeway, IF you are Honest in Intent. And no, Gaming and/or SCA are NOT acceptable excuses IMO;>...
