Projects 2018.....
Dec. 16th, 2017 11:27 amNormally, I'd have come up with my next yr's projects by Thanksgiving but this yr;>.......
Since I didn't even finish most of last yr's, I've decided to cut back. For Spiritual I'm going to work through the Elder Futhark and attendant stave poems. For the Mundane I've decided that one of them will be reverse engineering my Mom's fav recipes. Her faves were in her head, even though they may have originally come from a cookbook(or magazine which is HARDER to reconstruct). For some, the original form will be fairly easy. Mom couldn't Cook when she married and her 1st cookbook was Betty Crocker and she had a lifetime subscription to Better Homes and Gardens(I have her original BH&G's). For many I'll have a place to start; the pre 1960 editions. Others, like her Jalopeno Crm Cheese dip I know all the ingredients from watching her but since she NEVER measured I've yet to "get" it. All forms have been good but....
Another Mundane is that I'm getting back into Hybridizing. I've already begun with Crossing Sinningia helleri with a Red margined and spotted Sinningia speciosa(the Florist Gloxinia). Right now it's a race between seedpods maturing and plant going Dormant. We'll see.
Cheers,
Pat

Date: 2017-12-17 06:32 pm (UTC)I've been wondering whether you were still pollen-manipulating.
(Don't look at me, I avoid planning for the future and never make resolutions.)

Date: 2017-12-18 04:15 pm (UTC)I have to plan something otherwise my natural tendency to remain in place trumps everything else. since even at my most obsessive I never have planned for anything that would take more than a couple hrs a week I still have plenty room for spontaneous projects;>!
