So, it looks like we're going to get a Freeze worse than any since we moved here to BWB. I cleaned up the shed and since the side I have for plant oriented stuff doesn't have an outlet, I had to run a heavy duty cord from the other side so I can plug in our old radiant heater that used to be in the old house's bathroom in Winter. Runs fine, since I only need it barely warm to bring the Temps up above Freezing for the (sub)tropical. Supposedly it's not supposed to hit here till Saturday night but the weather weenies are NEVER to be fully trusted;>....

We use Christmas tree lights with plastic tenting on our outdoor plants when we get a freeze. It makes kind of a winter wigwam, but it keeps them above freezing.

All of our outdoor ones are LED so they unfortunately don't. I should think next yr to pop over to a Dollar Store and pick up some standard fairy lights. I just have a shiteload of old linens, blankets and covers I throw over all those I can't dragg'n the shed. Looks like a laundry exploded but since everyone does the same, no one will complain(unlike the Summer if someone leaves a towel drying on a fence;>). Even with the Heating I may bring the Holiday Cacti that haven't yet bloomed in the house anyway. Luckily, the cats don't think much of them and leave them alone.....unless they happen to be in their way of course;>!
