Looong two weeks. 1st, me: 2 Wednesdays ago I get a call from my pharmacy that the program that helped me with my aids meds co-pays was defunked. I called our county rep for ADAP(Aids Drugs Assistance Program) and left a message. Friday my pharm called again and this time she gave me HER contact...which worked! This Monday I spent 4 hrs doing paperwork and my meds arrived Wednesday. I was without ALL my meds except Pain and Insulin for 4 days.
Then Chuck had his appt Thursday. All he heard was that he lost 10# in 3 months. He didn't (and probably wouldn't have understood anyway at his stage of Dementia) that he was in early stage Kidney failure. The hope is this is just the result of a 4 month fungal med series and those meds are notorious for being rough on the kidneys. Fingers crossed his next labs will be better.

Yeah I hope so ... thank the gods you understand the medical stuff and can help him. And that you got on a new program to help with the cost of your meds. What an awful system this is.

So far, so good. They shipped the meds and I got them Wednesday. I've had to change assisance programs before but there was always a heads up. With Washington the way it is nowadays, it's hardly surprising no one did....

Oh shit followed by OH SHIT. *hugs you* I hope things get better, because I know you've had a long-standing quiet war going about making sure you get your meds--and please let it be the fungal meds on Chuck's part. His row is hard enough to hoe right now. <3

Thanks! I feel it was the meds. I'm also pushing fluids on him(he's never been big on drinking water). I just have to remember to bring a bottle to him every couple hrs. As long as he's comfy, that's all that matters to me...
