mdehnersIt's been a busy and revealing couple of weeks. Chuck unsurprisingly is slowly getting worse. He can take care of his daily needs but he has no retention of memory and he's now losing what's gone into Long Term. Today I found out he can't remember how to use his remote. In fairness, it's a Tivo remote so it's not "Intuitive". I've started to leave notes on his whiteboard if I go out for shopping or MD visit so when he can't find me in the house he doesn't panic.
My SIL's at a Health Retreat for a week so my brother has been able to "vent" more than normal and a few things now make sense. Back in 2016 she got involved with an alt med group from which she's developed a pretty strong Pot habit. And apparently she's one of those it makes PARANOID. Not too long after she left the group and started watching Fox News....then R Wing net sites. Since the election(of which she thinks Trump was brought there by God/Goddess/All that IS "Pull Back The Wizard's Curtain". Oh, and she's involved with the "Q", an online far Right conspiracy group. Chris admits that his job is what's keeping them together(he really Loves her) because he's only home (most)weekends. If she doesn't change I certainly don't seeing them last after he Retires. Sadly, he's so non-confrontational that if she didn't Proselytize he's ignore it for domestic harmony.
I've learned over the last couple of decades that trying to get Sandi to see a family member's POV is impossible; She'll support a Flat Earther stranger but family, nope. We need to be "Saved".....
