My brother dropped by this am to ask me to cat-sit for the weekend. He and his wife will be in Tennessee looking at houses. Apparently, the joy of living near the Cheeto Messiah doesn't balance out the cost of housing there. Just when I'd made myself comfortable with DC.
The (plus?) is he said I should stay here till Chuck Passes then move. He figures it'll only be a couple months. This is the same guy who thought Chuck would forget about me if he didn't see me for 3 days. Personally? I'd guess more likely next Spring unless things change radically. At least we've been given the ok to remain here till he Passes. Hopefully, it'll be a while.....
Cheers,
Pat

Yes, I hope Chuck lives many more years, in comfortable health, spiting your brother and SIL and everybody else. Very good news about staying put, but I hope you can manage without them for getting places.

Aargh! You'd think with you right there all these years, he might have noticed.

Once again, "There's none so blind as those who will not see."

*sigh*

And a virtual hug for each of you, from my ritzy middle class CV-19 lockdown, complete with paycheque, private outdoor space, and enough room that we aren't driving each other crazy.

In local news, the PTB want to shut down a doctor who's doing yeomen service to the poor and uninsured, including some who turn out to have CV-19, because he prescribed opiates to some people who didn't have all the appropriate paperwork. Hopefully the sympathetic piece in the SF Chronicle yesterday will cause enough pushback to put a stop to this, but I wouldn't count on it.

Frankly, I'd give all the druggies all the opiates they want, if that's what it takes to get pain patients what they need. But I don't worship a deity who values suffering. And unfortunately I also don't run the medical establishment.

Hopefully they'll spend the next decade checking out places and deciding not to move to them.

Also hopefully they won't pick up CV-19 in these explorations.

Glad they've changed their mind about forcing you to move with them.
