Winter Is Coming!!!
Nov. 19th, 2020 10:51 amAs the weather cools, so does my Energy. Curling up with a good book, music in the background and a cuppa at my side seems my default setting;>. Makin an effort to pack at least a box a day and Walk at least twice. A bit of a struggle though. Comfort is the dominant force at the moment.
Still have no idea when we'll move. Right now I'm guessing the 1st of the yr. At this point I'm sort of hoping it'll wait till Spring since moving in Snow isn't something I enjoyed back when I was used to it. After 3 decades living where it occasionally Frosts I'm a bit out of Practice;>!
At least this yr we didn't get an early Frost so the Winter blooming salvias have a chance to put on a show. The last migrating Hummingbirds enjoy them. I lost most of my holiday cacti collection(including the old fashioned one) But the few that survived are just beginning except for 'Ms Shimisu' which is full bloom. As they come into bloom I bring them in to enjoy.
I may be starting my Historybounding lifestyle here instead of in Tennessee. I've always been "temporally challenged" but work and environment kept me(mostly;>) to cultural norms but this yr I decided to accept my "Inner Edwardian". After we move and Chuck Passes I'll take Sewing classes but until then I'll adapt modern clothes to a late 19th-early 20th Century esthetic. I'd actually began to not long before I met Chuck but alter that things that we both weren't Interested in went by the wayside.
Since we found out where we were going to relocate, I began to research traditional regional health practices. It's an interesting subject. I'm pretty grounded on the Herbal side but the metaphysics is interesting; a mix of European modalities(Astrology and the Humors), African Diaspora and 1st Nations(Muscogee/Creek mostly). A lot reminds me a lot of Chinese Medicine. Love learning new stuff;>!!!
Cheers,
Pat
