So, I started that Intermittent Fasting(Diabetic Version) on New Years Day. While the weight loss isn't spectacular(2# a week), I've cut my daily Insulin in more than a half! From 30U x2 a day to 14U x2 a day. I could probably drop it some more since my BG's have been <70(a good Fasting is around 100) but we'll hold off for couple days. Next week I'll probably switch to the standard Fast, 8hrs o eat16 hrs to Fast. So, basically I'd Fast 4 more hrs in the AM.

Well done indeed! Especially the insulin need. I read a book by one of the doctors who claim to have reversed Type 2 diabetes by weight loss. (It seems to have been a parallel discovery by at least 2 researchers.) The guy had people go on a medically monitored crash diet (nothing but a daily nutrient shake and water for weeks) and it apparently worked, but it seemed to me based on the physiological discoveries that he designed the program to test that a much less drastic weight loss would have worked. His argument was that people would rather get it over with as fast as possible, and he reported subjects saying they didn't feel they were starving after the first day or two, but I find that hard to believe, and he also noted some dropouts, not all caused by family undermining them. My relationship with food would not be judged healthy by any authority, but since reading the book I have half-heartedly tried to reduce my weight a bit, but I can't do fasting and really don't want to go back to being skinny. I hope you can get off insulin—and be as skinny as you personally want to be :-)

Actually, 2 lbs a week is good. It stresses out your body to lose weight too quickly. Good job!!
