As I've mentioned before, I'm a bit of a Tea Snob(as well as ale;>), so I was watching Youtube and one about Japanese Green Teas came up. TBH, I've had poor luck with Green Teas in general and Japanese in particular, so I'm mostly an Oolong drinker with some Black. I watched it. Basically I was doing EVERYTHING wrong. Water Temp too high, too much Water, too long seeping and esp....WRONG TEAPOT! Funny thing. I've a bunch of teapots that both grandmothers ND my Mom had. One I never used because it was odd shaped and didn't hold much Water. Guess what's the right teapot for Green and esp Japanese Green Teas;>? I discovered the style is called Kyusu and the handle sticks out the side. I don't presently have any loose leaf Green Tea of any kind so I tried some Oolong. The flavor was markedly different than standard European or even Chinese methods(except Gongfu. I already tried that after having the dern thing for yrs). More "nutty" and less sweet. Next month I'll have to order some to properly testdrive my Grandmother's Kyusu...
