Got a call a few minutes ago from the nursing home. Chuck tested + during this outbreak. The 3rd one since he was admitted. Luckily, he didn't get it the last two times but odds were...
The nurse said he's in good spirits and sounds only slightly congested(he's had the shots) so hopefully that's as far as it goes. I'll be over there tomorrow anyway so I'll see what's up.
Until 1600 I had planned to post on how Fall has come early here in E Tennessee(started leaf coloring mid August;>) So my cute story of the Blue Heron pooping all over our obnoxious neighbors float ended up cut for time;>.

Goooood heron.

Poor Chuck. I'm glad they managed to protect him the first two times; and that he's vaccinated. Hoping for a mild case. Nasty, nasty bug.

I went to see him today. Other than sounding like he's doing Helium and a low-grade fever, he seems fair. The nurse who was on yesterday(the one that called me) said he didn't eat anything yesterday but today he'd been up at the bedside and ate his breakfast so hopefully, with the combo of the vaccines and his normal(and annoying;>) 24 hr illness he'll do ok. I'll keep you posted.
On the positive, after I got home I had a bowl of the same tobacco blend they smoked on the 1st LOTR movie and while I'd been gone my brother had hung a hummingbird feeder right over my chair. So I sat quietly smoking while 2 hummers battled overhead;>
