1st "Woooo" of Spring;>
Mar. 13th, 2026 03:20 pmSooooo, today I Saw my 1st Wights since Yule! Apparently, they're common enough that Cryptid and Ghost Hunters have recorded them. They're generally cally "Flying Rods" because that's basically what they are. In NW Florida they were prey to these VW beetle sized things that acted like anemones. I've only seen the rods here though. They move like squid on speed;>!
Maybe Spring's FINALLY coming!
Cheers,
Pat

But the only kind I'm aware of having seen are the black smoky swirls under bushes, and it was a long time ago and I don't remember whether it would be in all seasons.

Date: 2026-03-15 07:29 pm (UTC)Interesting on the Headlands and the localized Ocean presence. I used to go to Ocean Beach every month to blót, till the pandemic. But it's a big beach, I rode to the end of the N-Judah—dunes, surfer dudes, dog people, remains of illicit fires, and the occasional raven—and both the top bit near the Cliff House and the lower part with the graffiti murals (and the drain outfall) felt different. And now of course the highway is a park, so I imagine the land spirits of all kinds are recolonizing those dunes. But I could have been standing on somebody for all I knew.
