Feeling a touch better....
Jun. 12th, 2009 08:40 amWhile I'm still down about pretty much a complete failure of everything I've planted this Spring except the Eggplants and Hot Peppers, I realised things aren't so bad.
Visually, except for the unkemptness due to the breakdown of the mower AGAIN, the property looks pretty good. Green with plenty of flowers. Toads, Tortoises, tree frogs and plenty of birds. ANd the Permaculture parts are doing fairly. The Woody bits are fruitless with the exception of the fig trees but some might still "put out" later this yr. The Herbaceous Crops however are doing excellently!
Sweet Potatoes are popping up where I missed digging them last yr of the Korean and Purple cultivars(the Japanese and Brasilian didn't survive the WInter OR the Possums...). The Yuca/Manioc/Tapioca are growing well as are the Malangas and Taros.
While things could be better here on Hummingbird Home, it could be worse. In this there is Balance....
Cheers,
Pat
