mdehnersI admit to being Lucky. I was Born with a Logical turn to my Mind as well as a few "Woo" Abilities. I was Raised in a family where both were Honored. This, I Beleive is why I've done so well and not fallen into "traps" as some have in the last 4 decades on my Quest to the Ways of my ANcestors.
Both Abilities complement each other. The "Woo" helps where the Physical World info isn't "Tru"(as many cults in the 70's and Newwage BS up to Today....that my SIL constantly falls For). The Logical Mind makes me check out instead of automatically Accepting what I SEE. This is an area where a lot of folks I know personally have had Problems. I think it has to do with the false Premise proposed by NewAgers that only Physical Beings can do/are Evil. I. in accord with ALL CULTURES KNOWN PAST AND PRESENT Belive that Non-Physical Beings come in all Kinds:Friendly to Humans, InDifferent, Malevolent and Mischevious. This is where Lore of all kinds comes in to act as a check. This way you don't end up like one lady who used to go around moots doing Spae with an Icelandic Teen instead of Redbeard.....
This is where the old-style coven,/lodge/etc whas so Powerful. You had both to balance and check Experiences(such as having to have mult persons Percieve you doing ENergy Work to be Accepted as having the Ability, instead of most of todays circles/etc taking the person's word). Today, most groups tend toward one or the other, not mixed....a Weakness, IMMHO.
