mdehnersYuck! Another day with Heat Indexes above 100F. Maybe by Sunday I'll finish the mowing! The Lotus pots all needed more Dunks. The weather is encouraging Mosquito reproduction. Hot, Still air is perfect for them to opperate 24/7 and with the Humidity near or OVER 100%, even Dew puddles don't Evaporate. OTOH, it's encouraging the 'Angel Wings' Lotus in the front yard to send up more buds so;>......
I've decided to give up growing my own Garlics. Sure, there are subtle differences and the whole Preserving our Ancestor's Legacy bit but truth is that it's too much trouble here for the amt of resources put in. I'm beginning to think of a different way of Growing that I started a couple yrs ago. No beds or containers. Simply escavating a spot in the lawn, Enriching the Soil and planting ALL of a particular crop there and ONLY enough to feed us two. As I move them each time I Plant, there are no Dsease or Pest build ups.Everything but the Garlics, Eggplants and Peppers have been moved to this form of Gardening and this yr's continuing failures points out the method has merit. The only problem is that hile the grass grows back over the Harvested spot, it's not level for about a yr
afterwards so you do have to watch your step;>....
