On one of my lists not too long ago a participant was complaining about how Chaotic her life was, yet the concept that she considered herself a priestess of a Diety of Chaos being a factor hadn't occured to her. In fact, when pointed out she made it clear that it had nothing to do with the other.
A God/desses Nature influences the Follower...otherwise, there wouldn't BE a point to the relationship. Whether your nature predisposed you toward your Spiritual choice(s) or Their natures changed yours is a mixed bag....it still Influences. What I don't get is folks with a polytheistic outlook sticking with a Deity(or Deities) that are having a non-Positive effect in their lives. There IS a difference between learning lessons and incompatibility. Some folks often are too vested in their politics and/or worldviews to say to a Diety, "I appreciate the times and work we've done together but this relationship is just not working out for BOTH OF US". Beleive me, the last thing a God/dess wants is a follower that's kicking up dissonance in Their plans....
Truth,
Pat
