New Fav Condiment!
Sep. 5th, 2012 07:30 amThe only "Good Thing" yesterday was dinner and it shouldn't have been, since it was just leftovers.
Since I wasn't feeling up to making dinner, I thawed some of Mom's Turkey Stew and mixed it with Egg Noodles. Thing is, Mom's cooking is very bland nowadays due to her stomach problems(this was a woman that up to a few yrs ago ate Pickled Jalopenos like...Pickles!). So I added just a teaspoon of Gochujang and it came out FANTASTIC!
If you've never eaten Korean food, you probably never eaten the stuff since it's pretty much in most dishes. It's a fermented Soy and Hot Pepper Paste that has a firey, complex flavour. Now, I've just been using it in my 1st steps into Korean cooking but I think, like Mirin and Soyu I'll be adding it to a lot of dishes!
Cheers,
Pat
